AD TECH 2007 AT LONDON: PERSPECTIVES FOR NEXT YEAR FROM IE

Manuel Angel Alonso Coto

Last week I travelled to London to visit Ad Tech, the most important digital advertising fair worldwide, in order to prepare the residential period our students coursing the new Master in Digital Advertising & Communication will be spending in the City and which will include attendance to next year edition of AdTech: http://www.ad-techlondon.co.uk/

2007 London Ad Tech was a complete confirmation of UK being the main market in Europe for digital advertising: they trust the sector will finish this year overwhelming best prediction and trespassing against the barrier of 20% of the total advertising investment by both online and traditional advertisers. No surprise you could feel the wealthness of the agencies when you walked around the exhibitors’ fair as you can check in the following video.

Predictions for next year also referred to the definitive expansion of digital advertising Spanish market, which will moste likely go beyond 10% of total investment.

The hottest topics were advertising through social networks, behavioural targeting and integrated campaigns, but one of the most interesting conferences was about the growing importance of digital buzz campaigns and how to monitor them. It was taught by Casale, ValueClick and Microsoft Advertising Digital Solutions, all of which will be partners of IE in our new specialized master.

Ad Tech fairs continue to be an absolute must-attend for this industry’s professionals. That’s why we are partnering with DMG (which organises these events worldwide, not only in London but in NY, Beijing, Singapore, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Sydney, Hamburg, Paris, …) so our Master in Digital Advertising & Communication students can enjoy the full experience in Europe’s main city regarding e-marketing, not only by attending the fair but also by visiting major players in the City (like Media Contacts, Nielsen-Netratings, Wordtracker, Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions, Google, E-bay, FT.com, Headshift,…) and going through hands-on learning at their facilities…

Hope to meet you next year in London…

Best regards

Manuel Angel Alonso Coto
