March 17, 2008 PLAYBOY'S E-SURVEY BASED CAMPAIGN: SEXIEST AD EVER
Playboy has launched a tremendously successful online campaign based on the selection of the most sexy American commercial ever. Despite the 21 finalists have already been ranked in the printed magazine of February 2008, online version of the survey is still open for voting.
Believe it or not, I don't read Playboy, so the only information I have about the final ranking by the magazine’s editors is the absolute winner: an ad which goes under the title ‘Catfight’ featuring Tanya Ballinger and Kitana Baker doing a little passionate mud-wrestling. The list of finalists includes the famed Paris Hilton Carl's Jr. Bentley commercial, Britney Spears' Curious, Coors Light Twins, GoDaddy, Miller Light and Victoria's Secret. Some of the 21 are quite old such as Noxema's 1967 commercial featuring Gunilla Knutson cooing her man to "take it all off," Suzanne Sommers' Thigh Master commercial from 1991 and, above all -at least for all guys of my age (mid thirties)- the famed 1980 Calvin Klein commercials featuring Brooke Shields, our dream girlfriend of the 80’s. As no one would possibly doubt the buzz around the campaign has multiplied exponentially the visits to Playboy’s web.
